Th governor of Katsina state, Aminu Bello Masari has admitted that he has failed in the areas of safeguarding the lives and properties of his people in katsina.

The state has experienced serious attacks from the hands of bandits resulting to loss of lives and properties in towns within the state.

Katsina state residents, had over the week embarked on a protest to register their displeasure to relevant authorities on incessant attacks on people of the state.

The governor has however admitted to the failure of his government to protect it’s people.

Speaking with reporters at the government house in Katsina on Monday, Masari said he is not happy because his people have never had rest since he came on board as governor.

He said the bandits were “worse than animals” because they kill people in the state indiscriminately.

According to the governor; “I cannot look at them in the face because we have failed to protect them, contrary to our pledge to ensure the security of lives and property throughout the state.

“I never expected the behaviour and the attitude of people living in the forests, the bandits, whose behaviour is worse than that of animals.

“In the forest, a lion or a tiger kills only when it is hungry and it doesn’t kill all animals, it only kills the one it can eat at a time.

“But what we see here is that bandits come to town, spray bullets, kill indiscriminately for no purpose and no reason whatsoever, like the recent massacre of people at Faskari and parts of Dandume local government area.”

President Muhammadu Buhari  has also received accusation from the people of the state for failing to curb banditry activities in his own state. The people burnt down his posters and billboards during a protest.
