COVID-19: Gov. Yahaya orders total lockdown in Kabba/Bunu LG

The Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has declared a total lockdown in Kabba/Bunu Local Government of the state.

The order came after the report of two index cases of Coronavirus in Kogi State by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC)

According to the governor who declared the lockdown while briefing the press on Monday morning, said it will last for two weeks.

He said the Lockdown will start from 12 am midnight of June 2nd to 15th June, 2020.

According to Bello the lockdown will allow more testing and contact tracing of the individuals that had contact with the index cases.

The governor in his press briefing, described the action as painful, urging residents in the local government to abide by the directive.
