The Federal Government is set to engage 27,000 youths in Imo State to carry out public works in their various Local Government Areas.
This was disclosed by the Chairman Special Public Works Committee in the state, Obinna Okenze, disclosed this on Wednesday at the Federal Secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.
The chairman, in his statement while Speaking during the inaugural meeting of the state nominees for the Federal Government’s Special Public Works programme, said that the youths will be recruited between October and December 2020 and will be paid N20,000 monthly.
He however noted that recruitment process is free and nobody should be charged adding that anyone found charging money no matter how small will be prosecuted accordingly.
