Insecurity: Protesters Floods katsina state over banditry

The protest which took place on Tuesday 9, 2020 according to Sahara reporters is as a result of the  over repeated attacks by bandits in some towns which had led to destruction of lives and properties.

The state residents  lamented over the killings and poor response by both state and Federal government over the situation which makes the protest  necessary as demonstration of their displeasure on government effort to tackle the situation.

The state residents cry that people in the state now live in total fear of not knowing where next the bandits will attack from.

The report Carry’s that  hundreds of residents of Yan Tumaki in Danmusa local government area of Katsina flooded  the town’s streets to  participate in protest.

As contain in the report, one of the protesters said:

“Is it not shameful and embarrassing that this ugly security threat is happening daily in the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the chief security officer of the country?

” And It’s glaring both the President and Governor Masari are failure, they have repeatedly failed us. They have to be alive to their constitutional duties of protecting the citizens,” he said.

Katsina state is one of the many states in North West of  Nigeria that is facing incessant attacks by bandits in the region with similar situation in zamfara, Sokoto and Kaduna state. With about 150 people have been reportedly killed by bandits in Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa and Safana local government areas of the state in the last two months.
