Liverpool have won the 2019/2020 premier league season after Chelsea thrashed Manchester City 2-1 on Thursday.
The Premier League returned three months later with the Reds needing just six points to clinch the trophy.
A draw at Everton and victory over Crystal Palace in their first two games after the restart moved Jurgen Klopp’s side to within two points of glory.
But with Manchester City dropping points at Chelsea tonight, Liverpool’s fate was sealed.
Jurgen Klopp’s men sealed a 19th league title for the club with a record seven games left to play after City’s defeat left them 23 points adrift of Liverpool at the top.
Liverpool last won the league in the 1989/90 season and this marks their first Premier League success since the competition’s inception in 1992.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have taken the lead in their fight for next season UEFA Champions League after defeating Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, leaving Manchester United staggering behind.
