Phil Neville reveals why Sancho should postpone move to Man United

Former Manchester United star, Phil Neville has revealed why Jadon Sancho should not force a move to join United in the current climate.

According to him, he believes it’s in Sancho’s best interests to remain ‘patient’ this summer.

The Red Devils had been confident of signing the England International this summer but the pandemic has had widespread implications on club finances across the globe.

United remain keen on signing the 20-year-old but they’re unwilling to meet Dortmund’s £120million valuation of the winger.

With little sign of the Bundesliga club budging and Sancho desperate to return to England, it’s unclear how the saga will play out.

The 20-year-old  could force a move by handing in a transfer request and the fact he has two years left on his deal could leave Dortmund in a predicament next summer.

However, Neville believes that it is not right time for the young star to move to Old Trafford, adding that he should be prepared to call the deal off.

“I think with Sancho he’s actually playing for a great club and he’s playing most weeks,” Neville told Premier League Productions.

“He’s playing at the top, top level. If I was him I would be patient. I don’t think clubs can go out and pay £100m for a player like Sancho at this moment in time.

“It might be something that they’ll have to do in 12 months time but I have to say I think this kid is the real deal. I think he’s something really special.”
