Unknown Gunmen kill former defense chairman in Delta community

The former defence chairman in Igbudu community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State has been reportedly killed by a group of unknown gunmen.

According to Daily Independent, the former defence chairman, Mr Emio, was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday morning, at Hausa Quarters by the God’s Kingdom Society GKS.

According to a sources, “Unknown gunmen have killed Mr. Emio who is the former defence chairman of Igbudu Community. The news came in this morning that, Emio is dead.

“This is not the first time we are having this kind of killing within this month. The secretary of the defence was also killed not up to a month now. Before they killed him, (defence secretary) they tied his hands, legs and mouth and then threw inside the river.

“Today, Sunday. May 22, 2021, they have killed the chairman, collected his gun from him. All these happened within the space of one month. But, how can people in a society like this, will just be killing people, just like that. It means nobody is safe anymore.”

In another development, a source said, “Two day ago, a woman selling local medicine (agbo) was robbed in the morning, at lower Erejuwa, and in the process they stabbed her and collected over N40 thousand from her.”

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Edafe Bright said, “Yes, a man died, but the circumstances surrounding his death is not known for now. So, we cannot say whether he was assassinated or not.”
